Who and What is Discover Japan?
|
- Discover Japan is an organization that helps provide opportunities for adventure, education, and discovery in, and about, Japan, for children, adults, the family and large groups.
- Let us help you explore the countryside and culture of Japan through educational and physical activities and programs at our lodge and at our outdoor education facility in Minami Boso, Chiba.
- Learn more about our residential summer school and summer camp programs for elementary and middle school students near the ocean in the countryside of Japan.
- Find out how easy it is to get out of the city for that "getaway weekend" you've been talking about. Bring your family or large group and stay at our lodge, Hakkakuso, use our Trek mountain bicyles, or hike, and discover the beauty that is the countryside of Japan.
- Design your own special programs for your group or ask us to help put activities together for you. Some of the programs and activities we have implemented include:
|
-
Marine science weekends
-
Outdoor education activities for children and adults of all ages
-

|
| Our programs are organized by David Green, long time elementary and middle school teacher at Nishimachi International School, and Yoshiko Kimura, grade four teacher at St. Mary's Elementary School, both in Tokyo. We have been involved in outdoor education in Japan since 1977, organizing and running bicycle trips, ski adventures, camps, and other outdoor education activities for children and adults. All of our adult counselors are highly certified and experienced educators with extensive outdoor leadership training. |
